Email me: Ariethal@hotmail.com Most memorable Opera experiences: My first operatic role as a Shepherd in "Amahl", my first leading role as Zerbinetta in "Ariadne" at the Aspen Music Festival and the role of Helmwige in a concert presentation of Act III of Die Walkure. Also high on my list was being the featured soloist with the Montgomery (AL) Symphony on their "Opera Night". I sang "The Bell Song" from Lakme', "Juliet's Waltz" from Romeo and Juliet, "Quando men vo" from La Boheme, "Olympia's Aria" from Tales of Hoffman and sang "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess for an encore. Awards and Honors: Placed in various auditions and competitions. In 2004, 2nd place winner of the first Classical Singer Competition sponsored by Classical Singer Magazine. Winner: The National Opera Association Competition’s Legacy Award, professional division, 2nd place in The Center for Contemporary Opera International Competition; prize, a New York debut recital at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall. A Friedrich Shorr Memorial Prize in Voice winner and won 3rd place in the Oratorio Society of New York competition. During studies at the American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS), won the first place vote of the jury in the Meistersinger Competition in Graz, Austria, and received the gold medallion as the audience’s 1st place choice. Member of Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity. Currently serves as publicity/web chair for the Atlanta Alumni and is a recent inductee to ACME (Mu Phi Epsilon's Hall of Fame)for 2006. Recently, I sang in an introductory concert an aria for the character of Coretta Scott King.
