Versatile in opera, oratorio, and recital, Denise Thibeault combines excellent acting skills and musical interpretation in a broad range of musical eras. Her performances have been praised for "a beautiful rich tone quality"..."power and personality"..."excellent musicianship"..."a fine artist...lovely to see and hear".

In OPERA, her graceful figure, comic timing and dramatic interpretation have delighted audiences in featured roles in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel; Rossini's Cenerentola; Mozart's The Magic Flute; Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor; Lehar's The Merry Widow, and Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Medium, and The Old Maid and the Thief. She has performed with The Opera Company of Boston, Monadnock Music, Boston Bel Canto Opera, Artists Internationale Opera Company, Providence Opera Theater, Goldovsky Opera Institute, and Quincy Symphony Opera Festival. Last season, she expanded her repertoire into Gilbert & Sullivan, and delighted audiences in her comic interpretation of 'Ruth' in Pirates of Penzance with The Paul Madore Chorale.

In ORATORIO and CONCERT she has been a featured soloist in recurring engagements with Harvard University, Dedham Choral Society, Zamir Chorale, Northeastern University Choral Society, Bridgewater College Choral Society, Masterworks Chorale, and Paul Madore Chorale. Last season, she made her debut with The Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra in the Durufle Requiem, and The Assabet Valley Mastersingers in Handel's Messiah.


Showcasing her artistry in RECITAL to enthusiastic audiences, distinguished American composer Daniel Pinkham chose her to showcase his compositions at several venues, including the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. As a featured recitalist, she has performed on WGBH radio, and in numerous recitals at Northeastern University, where she was on the voice faculty for several years. As a featured soloist at the National Association of Teachers of Singing New England Conference, she presented Schubert and Brahms "Art Songs on Stage" with Anne Ewers, General Director of Utah Opera.

Born in New Jersey, Ms. Thibeault traveled throughout Europe and the United States as a child and was introduced to opera at an early age. She studied at Boston Conservatory with Iride Pilla in the Masters Program in Vocal Music Performance, and also holds degrees from Florida State University, Rhode Island College, and Suffolk University. She received advanced operatic and stage training with Boris Goldovsky at the Goldovsky Opera Institute.
